5 Family-Friendly Activities on the Gold Coast

The Gold Coast is the perfect destination for families on a holiday. There are several amusement and theme parks; not to mention, entertainment for the whole family. If you're planning to visit anytime soon, you'll be happy to know that there are several activities and events you can catch on December and January.
1. Witness The Fire Machine Spectacular
From December 26 to January 15, you and your family can watch Dreamworld light up. The Main Street will be filled with various activities from 5pm onwards. The line up includes: Everybody Dance Now, Magic Dancers, Ute and a Few Boot Tappers, Dreamtones, Evolution of Beach Show, and Power into the Night. By 8:30, get ready to witness the incredible pyrotechnics and special effects display of The Fire Machine spectacular.
2. Join the Zombie Evilution
Besides The Fire Machine, Dreamworld is also featuring another attraction available from December 26 to January 15. The Zombie Evilution is a thrilling walk-through maze set in Kevin Hill, a town unlike any other. Gather your wits and escape the deadly horrors in this little town.
3. Experience Sea World Carnivale
The Carnivale has a new home. From Warner Bros. Movie World, it is now moving to Sea World where it promises to continue to showcase a fabulous entertainment, live music series and mouth-watering flavours. There will also be some fun family activities such as mask decorating and face painting as well as non-stop entertainment and performances at the Plaza. Dont miss the festival by the sea which is set on January 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 and 21.
4. Enjoy a Family Movie Night
There will be a family movie night on January 28 at the Kingsmore Park. Be there by 5pm so your kids can enjoy some free activities. When the clock strikes 7, get ready for a free movie screening featuring Walt Disney Animation Studios' 2013 computer-animated musical fantasy film Frozen.
5. Watch Pixar Short Films
The Arts Centre Gold Coast has prepared various workshops for their Culture Kids January summer school holiday program. Besides this, the arts centre also has a series of activities, exhibitions as well as free entertainment such as a free Disney and Pixar short films screening. If the kids are participating in any of the workshops, make sure to also take them to The Basement for some free movie.
