In what has been called a Festival of Football, Metricon Stadium (just a short walk from Royal Woods Resort), will host Saturday’s NAB AFLW Grand Final between the Brisbane Lions and Adelaide Crows before the Gold Coast Suns and Brisbane Lions take to the field for the first round of QClash13.

The league had intended to play the first ever AFL Women’s grand final between Brisbane Lions and Adelaide Crows at the Gabba but the decision to sow turf at the ground and a November Ashes Test meant the game had to be shifted to the Gold Coast.  The Lions went the season undefeated to earn hosting rights and Metricon was the closest to home ground advantage they could get.  Entry to the AFL women’s grand final is free with the game starting at 1pm.

Footy fans will need a ticket for the second serving of action at Metricon with the Gold Coast Suns playing their season opener against the Brisbane Lions from 7.05pm.  Tickets can be purchased through http://premier.ticketek.com.au/

The Queensland Government has confirmed that all transport in South East Queensland will be free of charge on Saturday, March 25, although with Royal Woods close proximity to the ground, our guests are unlikely to need this.
